If you aren't able to see the embedded video about "How to Design a Logo", you may need to select "show all content" when the pop-up dialogue box appears.

a graphic designer does a lot of brainstorming before they even attempt to draw even the simplest shape. For instance my mom generates words, and related content and organizes them in her notebook. She looks up previous images/logos to see how people have done it in the past. My mom then, like in the video, she sketches various ideas on paper. She messes around with serif's, and san serif's and font's/sizes. She see's if letter's could potentially come together, and connect, then she looks at images, and work's with other various artists, and comes up with a final product, then, finally she put's it in adobe illustrator, and sends it away to the company. Sometimes they ask for revision's but that is the main process

Flynn, you wrote a great summary of the logo design process. I like the additional step that your mom takes- looking at previous designs. It's always helpful to look at other artwork when starting a new design or work of art.

Graphic designer thinks of diffrent ways to represent there company like a symbolic icon, type of graphic, etc. And they choose the type of colors to use in it.then draw there ideas over and over til they get the perfect idea for a logo.they can also look at the old logo to get a better idea of what the company represents.then when they have a final idea they but it together by using photoshop to create the final logo deisighn.

I learned that some of the most popular logos are the most simplest shapes.

Keeping it simple is a real challenge for logo design, especially if we are not very experienced. "KISS"

I learned that artist logo designers do alot of thinking before they start drawing if it's a good logo it's probably a simple one. You should look at your logo every way in tell it looks good.

Karon, I love that you added new information to this online conversation. Good collaboration means you are a careful listener (or reader in this case) and then you contribute something new. I love the part about thinking- this is a vital part of the art making process.

I think that logo design is harder then it looks and needs to be simple, the girl in the video seems to know what she's talking about and the simple aspect of the logo is to show people what the thing is about, and not every little aspect you want.

Joe, this is a real challenge isn't it?
